We'd like to extend our appreciation to everyone who made JLMUN 2020 a truly special experience. There some great debates interwoven with suggestions of Swedish revival and Greenlander Igloos, and we couldn't have asked for a better conference. Thanks to everyone who attended and helped organize the event.

Keynote Speaker at JLMUN 2020 Opening Ceremony
We were delighted to be able to welcome Mr Richard Davies as this year’s keynote speaker. An accomplished economist who is currently a professor at his alma mater London School of Economics and Political Sciences. He worked as a regulator for business competition in the UK before moving to the Bank of England as a senior economist. After deciding to move into journalism, Richard climbed the ranks of The Economist magazine to become economics editor. In 2015 he left this position to serve in HM Treasury as a special advisor to Chancellor George Osborne.
In his latest book Extreme Economies, Richard explored the lives of the people living at the extremes of the world, from disaster zones to former failed states. He argues that economists should study the lives of these people to better understand fundamental market forces and today’s most pressing economic questions.
